THE HOLISTIC LIFE AT LAVENDER WELLNESS

Connection & Community

The Center for Connection & Community

Group Discussion Session

Relationships are part of how we understand ourselves, move through challenges, and find support. Our shared Center offers ways for couples, families, and groups to make time for that work through counseling, education, and community connection.

Ways to work together

Couples counseling

Relationships can become caught in familiar disagreements, distance, or uncertainty. Couples counseling makes room to explore communication, recurring patterns, and what each person needs. Ask about the clinician’s approach, experience, and availability for your particular concerns.

Family counseling

Changes, conflict, and different expectations can affect the whole family. Family counseling offers space to hear one another, clarify concerns, and work toward shared goals. Together with your clinician, you can discuss who should participate and how the work may support your family’s needs.

Groups and workshops

Learning alongside others can offer perspective, practice, and a sense of connection. Our groups and workshops provide opportunities to discuss shared experiences, develop communication and self-care skills, and explore topics that matter in everyday life.

Programs to ask about

The group descriptions below draw on programs offered through Lavender Wellness. Contact us for the current calendar, facilitator, format, and registration details.

Bibliotherapy Group: Reading & Reflection

Sometimes a passage puts into words something you’ve been feeling but haven’t known how to explain. In our bibliotherapy group, we use selected readings to start a guided conversation. We’ll talk about what stayed with us and where we see parts of our own lives in what we read. Hearing what someone else noticed can give you a different way to look at your own experience and help you feel less alone in it. Both fiction and non-fiction books will be explored.

You’re welcome to share what feels comfortable or take time to listen and reflect. Contact Lavender Wellness to learn more about the group and how to take part.

Empty Nest Support Group for Women

You can be proud of your children for finding their own way and still miss having them home. When the routines of parenting change, it can take time to get used to the quieter moments and decide what you want your days to look like now.

Our Empty Nest Support Group gives you a place to talk with other women going through this transition. We’ll talk about what you miss, how to stay close to your children as your role changes, and what you’d like to make more time for in your own life. You can share as much as you’re comfortable with and hear how others are finding their footing.

Contact Lavender Wellness to learn more about the group and how to join.

Mind-Body Connection Group

You might notice your shoulders tighten during a difficult conversation or find it hard to settle down after a long day. The Mind Body Connection is an educational group for adults who want to recognize how stress and emotions show up in their bodies and practice ways to respond.

Christine Cherundolo leads six 90-minute meetings with short lessons, guided exercises, and time to talk together. You’ll try brief check-ins, grounding, and breathing exercises, then see what helps in your everyday life. We’ll also explore what emotions can tell us about our needs and boundaries. By the end of the group, you’ll have a personal plan for what to try when you notice stress building. You can share as much as you’re comfortable with.

We welcome inquiries from people of all backgrounds and experiences. Ask which current program may fit your interests and needs. Group topics, schedules, and availability can change.

Connection beyond the counseling room

Schools, employers, and community organizations can inquire about education on communication, conflict resolution, stress, resilience, and emotional well-being. You can also ask about wellness workshops and retreats that include mindful movement, reflection, learning, and time with others.
